The new Southco® R4-EM Electronic Rotary Latch is Southco’s new lead standard EML product along with the E-Keeper. Its all-metal construction and rotary latch mechanism will serve those applications requiring higher strength and security. Unlike competitive electromechanical latches that simply retrofit a separate solenoid actuator to release the mechanical latch, the R4-EM overcomes the issues of high operating current requirements and the inability of solenoids to handle much of a load. Also, the fully integrated design makes it an easier choice to install and maintain.
